Great subject. Would have been helped immensely by judicious editing (a few too many similar shots) and tighter cropping (ie David Smith - crop out all but head, elbow and hat). Vern Shelton is nice, but needs to be cropped tighter. Firefighters climbing stairs is probably your signature shot, but you needed to change your angle and fill the frame with just them.

One of the larger sections entered at 36 pages, this entry had everything one could ask for and more in an event preview special section. I liked the creativity of the designers with font choices and associated graphics. I also liked the headline writing, depth of content and also just some cool photographs. This was a very competitive class, and you were clearly a top 3 entrant and margin between you and top two was slim. Be proud! Thank you.

This was clearly IMO as judge, the top of class for this category of special sections. This section exudes joy, mainly through great photo choices. The map is great, have musician profiles, a piece on other things do & explainer of 'Boonerang.' Liked the yellow infobox pop-outs, drew me in. Great job, Y'all.
