WALTER Magazine, June & September 2024
Of the Art and Soul magazines ... this was stands out. While all of them have good overall design, ads and photos, what sets this one apart is the creative use of fonts and colors to help break up the gray on the page

"Let's Play Ball" by Ayn-Monique Klahre, photography by Alex Boerner and Tyler Northrup
A lot of thought and work went into the collection. A great mix of photos highlighting the love of the game - both on the field and in the stands. A winner!

"Native Roots" by Lori D.R. Wiggins, photography by Alexandra Williams
A Pow-Wow feature definitely begs for plenty of photos to tell the story and photographer Alexandra Williams completed the assignment as it should be - without interference and in the moment. Well done! Mission accomplished. Congratulations on 1st Place - you earned it. The layout/design and accompanying story complete your package.

"Vanishing from View" by Ayn-Monique Klahre, photography by Scott Sharpe
This grouping of photos captures the simple life - and beautiful life - of rural America. Perfect times of day for lighting with the bonus of clouds. Also like the variety of color and the contrast of black & white.

"Music" column by David Menconi
These were full of heart. The writer shows us why music matters. The connection to community is right there in every paragraph. This is a great example of what a column can do when it still aims high. Smart and full of soul.

WALTER Magazine, July 2024
The Datebook section leads off the magazine with events appealing to a variety of interests and at all price points. Good variety of lifestyle content for visitors and locals alike, with relatable subject matter. The magazine is classy but isn't targeted at a particular class of reader. I loved the lemur story and photos.
