By the end of the article, a reader feels he has walked in the shoes of a 911 operator, and knows what they face each day in service to the community. Marty Queen captures the stress and camaraderie of the job and, in the case of this center, how management has built a culture of support and self-care.

I'm not a fan of opinion pieces in reporting categories, but The Paper nailed it this time. There's good reportage in this call for sensible civil disobedience. Burke County should be glad to have these journalists looking out for them.
