Twisted head and helmet
This is certainly a unique shot. It had me taking a double take at it, initially not sure what I was looking at. Very unique photo capturing all the action and strangeness of the helmet placement at the same time.

Email newsletter
Great content and headers. Bullet points are tricky because lists can feel overwhelming to readers-sometimes having multiple columns helps the list appears shorter. The newsletter is longer, and takes a bit to load if there's heavy imagery, on mobile so you could consider making some adjustments if you have a have a large percentage of readers that read from their phone.

Editorial Page
Good commentary on important local issues. A strong edit page needs that, and this one delivers, even though it doesn't contain as many opinions/columnists as some others. Clean and easy to read.

Major Burke retires after 30-year career
A very nicely done retirement profile, which - thank you!!! - has a lot of other voices/sources talking about the person being profiled. Good background, good use of quotes and structure. Well done!

Evelynn Adamson swims
Great timing on this photo as you caught the breath, head tilt and spatters of water. Shooting kids this young can prove tricky. Good job on catching the moment.

Oh, what fun!
I rarely give a high placing award to a single photo when other top entries have many images, but this photograph was a very good example of catching unpredictable action (sledding) along with facial expressions, rare person off ground in air and also good center framing. Nice work.

And we'll have FUN, FUN, FUN
Fun best describes the layout and photos used. However, could have blown up a few of the photos for more impact. That many smaller photos is a lot for viewer to take in.

Community Coverage
Good coverage of issues important to an ocean-front community. Some real reporting. (Did see one brief that ended mid-paragraph). Like the Port-folio section.

Student's winning design keeps an 'eye' on election
Nice change of pace from typical political writing - this gives readers something different instead of what they're tired of reading about. This article wins because it will attract young readers by way of art and a familiar face in their school and community. It highlights the importance of voting, and emphasizes that voters should keep an eye on their government. Great work taking a different approach and not overlooking something some would deem too trivial.

Exceptional cover - it instantly grabs attention and invites readers in. The mix of safety tips and a full community events calendar is gold-timely, useful, and exactly what your audience needs. The information-packed special section feels like a valuable community resource, blending content and ads seamlessly. Strong advertiser participation, with themed ads that enhance rather than interrupt the flow.
