Durham City Council Reporting
This is outstanding work about a very dysfunctional elected officials. I've seen better behavior in barroom brawls, during my courts and cops beat days. The writing is well done and gives an all-too-vivid picture of what happened. But the bad behavior doesn't overshadow the bad behind the scenes efforts at influence. Great work!

SCAD Reporting
This is a well done series of articles on how a developer tried to use Habitat for Humanity to get his way and get development done. The writing is great as is organization of the stories. Development plans can be a snoozefest but the digging here produced compelling stories that are in the public interest. Outstanding work!

In a very, very competitive class where several entries are bunched at the top, this entry rose to the top for strong writing and story organization. You really explain the issues well. I like the use of quotes and the examples cited. Great work!
