I know what happened, but I can't explain it'
An inspiring story wellreported and written that captures a personal achievement of one man and the heart of the community supporting his efforts. Terrific.

2023 Fall Sports Preview
This was a tough call between your entry and the 1st place, and this was akin to the ending of the Tennessee Titans-St. Louis Rams Super Bowl. There was a TON of great, deep, well-written content and hit all the sports and people expected. I thought the design was a bit hectic, though, and the odd advertisements mistaken for stories dropped you down a bit. Great work though. Thank you.

Duke Energy reporting
This clearly took hours of research, interviews, attending meetings, and it very much shows. One of my favorite factors of this article was that it talked about what will happen to the workers of these plants. An incredibly important component often left out of stories such as these. All and all, it was an incredibly informative story that illustrates where we are as a country with our transition to alternative energy sources.

Filing period ends: BOC chair will not seek re-election
The name of the entry doesn't seem to match the article, but...this is a great series that follows how one question opened the proverbial "can of worms," and it shows how all of the complicated details are related. The quotes and the arguments for and against consolidation provide good context, and it was smart, in each article, to remind readers how this all started.

Storytime reading sparks controversy
Story was generally well done, but maybe too long. Entry would've been strengthened by better design elements like a breakout box for all the pastors' names. The subheads and photos helped, though. Overall, kudos on such in-depth reporting and tackling the subject from so many angles. Well done!
