Towns are pushing for subsidized stadiums, while others struggle to keep them afloat
Well written and easy to read story. Just feels a little off balance, you have lots of quotes from politicians and experts in various fields who are all against tax payer funded stadiums, but nothing from anyone who is in support of them. Good journalism examines the argument, leaning to one side, but GREAT journalism examines the argument thoroughly from all sides and leaves it up to the readers to decide what to think.

Fairness in Women's Sports, perspectives
I was surprised to see this essay in the sports feature category. But it is a remarkable read, putting into context and perspective the trans-athlete issue from the writer's point of view. Every one should read this.

NCInnovation Investigation
This is outstanding work and reporting on a massive, massive funding request by a group that doesn't seem to be accountable to anyone but itself. This package of storage is a prime example why those data access requests can really pay off. I commend the paper for giving a great overview of how this is a big ask in budget. Great work!

Carolina Journal headlines
Solid and a good degree of creativity. The "Buller? Buller?" reference on a school absenteeism headline works well. On the gerrymandering article, I caught the "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” reference before seeing the lede but not on first glance, but it's still clever. The gambling headline is pretty standard and fits well.
