This story did not go where I thought it was going. Eye-opening and frightening to think this woman's life was held by an unreasonable law. Is it too much to say that everyone in the United States needs to read this story?

Billy Ball hit all the elements of a true "column," and that aspect combined with his insightful, polite but a bit slyly spicy writing style propelled him into first place for me.
